You never know what you will find when you look. I was at the Wolfville Farmers Market a while back and saw these interesting pieces. The creator is a man named Wayne Stack. He is a local craftsman inspired by the steampunk genre, often incorporating pieces of reclaimed wood. Some of the pieces he has made use wood that is over 200 years old giving the creations very interesting character. Wayne especially likes when his design idea is able to keep parts of the original nails. Seeing the nail heads flash against the dark tones in the wood allow for a nice contrast. The thing I like most about Waynes approach to his pieces, it that the steampunk styling is not overstated and acts as an influence opposed to being the subject.
