There are few days I enjoy more than being able to spend time with old friends. So I really enjoyed being able to go out to the Atlantic Canada Rare and Unusual Plant Sale that happened in Annapolis Royal last month. I was able to go with one of my oldest friends, Breanna Parks. At the same time I was able to meet the elusive older sister Brandie (Breanna has been telling me about Brandie for years). The four of us went (my wife Lillian was with us) on a sunny bright day down the valley. I was driving Breanna's car which was a treat for me because her car has a manual transmission. The car I currently use has an automatic transmission but before that I always had manual; I miss it. When we got there, the Royal Market was alive with people flitting from one vendor to another. There were rows of people walking this way and that trying to see all they could before someone else snatched up the one odd plant they were looking for. We went with the intention of finding asparagus roots for Breanna's garden. We were unlucky in our quest but there were other plants at the sale that were able to soothe asparagus shaped hole in Breanna's heart.
